It will come as no surprise that the broker that has made the most waves on the acquisitions front – step forwards Arthur J Gallagher – is also taking up a sizeable share of column inches on the Market moves pages. With comings and goings at the top level, including the recruitment of Adrian Brown from RSA, the consolidator is never far from the headlines. Zurich has been in the limelight over recent months and this edition is no exception with a new team and organisational structure for personal lines. It is a sector of the market that has been particularly frothy in recent weeks. Axa also reorganised its personal lines intermediary offering and announced the departure of Karen Hogg, director of strategic partnerships, who is returning to broking. And last, but in no ways least, Barbara Bradshaw stood down from the executive director role at Biba but will still be working with the trade body as a consultant.

There can be only one place to start and that has to be at The Walbrook Building in London. As not only does Arthur J Gallagher have one of the most impressive reception desks in the industry, but it has also laid claim to having one of the busiest revolving doors – real or imagined.
