A new player has entered the liability sector with plans to write £100m of premium in the north-west over the next three years. Quinn Direct, the insurance arm of Irish manufacturing and services conglomerate Quinn Group has started writing business, primarily for construction industries, through three brokers. It is now looking to meet up with a number of others in the Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds area. It also plans to write policies direct; the source of half its business in Ireland.
