Aviva chairman Lord Sharman has defended the chief executive

Andrew Moss, chief executive of Aviva, has admitted having an affair, according to the Times.

The newspaper said Mr Moss told Lord Sharman, Aviva chairman, he had been having affair with junior member of staff Deirdre Moffat, a former member of Aviva’s human resources department, after details of the affair began to leak.

Speaking to the Times, Lord Sharman said: “Andrew has been very open with me and I am clear that there has been no breach of company rules.
