Following four unconvincing performances by England’s football team, it was down to old foes Germany to put the national squad out of its misery.

The WAGs can't be blamed for creating a distraction this time as they all stayed at home, so what did go wrong? Was it the coach, the players, or the much complained about Jabulani ball?
