Lloyd's brokers trial replacing traditional slips with iPads

Brokers are leading the way in the adoption of new technology in the Lloyd's market.

Marsh, Cooper Gay and RK Harrison Group have joined forces with Lloyd's in a three-month pilot in which iPads will be used as an alternative to traditional underwriting slips.

A spokesman for Lloyd's said there had already been strong interest from other brokers and that a second trial was scheduled for the near future.

"The trial is more about how we use the technology, how people in the market feel about mobile technology and also seeking opinions from those using it," he added.

FCA trims broker fees hike to 9.3%

The Financial Conduct Authority has confirmed it is raising the financial contribution of the general insurance mediation fee block by 9.3% for 2024/25, down from its initial projection of a 9.8% increase.
