Frontrunner for Aviva top job revealed

Mark Wilson, former chief executive of Asian life insurer AIA, is frontrunner for the chief executive role at Aviva, according to reports.

The Financial Times has claimed that sources “familiar with the situation” have named Mr Wilson as the top external choice for the role.

The main internal candidate is Pat Regan, the provider’s chief financial officer.

John McFarlane, chairman at Aviva, has been running the insurer since Andrew Moss stood down as chief executive in May 2012, following a shareholder revolt over pay and underperformance issues.
