Bridge Insurance Brokers has hired Richard Whitham as entertainment head for its creative industry division.

The department - called Loop Insurance - was formed in December 2012 and covers the likes of events and festivals, marketing, public relations and film.

Speaking about his new role, Mr Whitham - who previously worked at Doodson Broking Group - said: "The events industry is a rapidly evolving sector and many other insurers are not keeping up with the pace.

"There is limited cover available for creative sectors and that's why the launch of Loop has been so well received by the industry."
