Protesters spill 1,000 litres of fake oil on Lloyd’s doorstep
A one-tonne tank of plant and water-based biodegradable oil flooded the area in front of Llyod’s headquarters in Insurance Rebellion's latest protest targeting the market over links to fossil fuels.
This morning, 29 October, protesters taking part in the global Defund Climate Chaos protests spilled 1000 litres of fake oil on the doorstep of the insurance marketplace Lloyd’s of London’s headquarters.
According to the group, the actions were a direct response to Lloyd’s of London’s refusal to rule out insuring new oil extraction at the UK’s North Sea Cambo oil field and ongoing insurance of the Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline in Canada.
