Professional indemnity insurance is not just for the professions, cover is now being tailored for all manner of different sectors. Steve Banner examines the growing PI market.
Although traditionally associated with solicitors, architects, andother established professions which are usually obliged to purchase cover,
professional indemnity is now being taken out by IT and management
consultants, advertising agencies, and even undertakers.
"From the insurer's viewpoint, one reason for this diversification is that
the traditional market has become an over-fished pool with tight margins,"
