Reg Brown is stepping down as active underwriter for RE Brown
Syndicate 702. He is being replaced by deputy underwriter Andreas
Loucaides.


Mr Brown, the current president of the Chartered Insurance Institute, will
quit the position at the end of the year to take up a "pivotal role" with
Markel Syndicate Management, which recently acquired 702's parent company
Terra Nova. Markel will be managing number 702 in 2001, as well as three
other syndicates
