Solicitors across the country will have to wait until 12 May to hearthe results of a postal ballot which could determine the future of the
Solicitors Indemnity Fund.
Although the results are not binding on the Law Society council, a
spokeswoman for the body stressed that they would be given serious
consideration.
The ballot follows the Law Society's vote in favour of maintaining
compulsory professional indemnity for solicitors through its mutual fund.
The council went against its executive
