Bluefin warns on the impact of the Ministry of Justice reforms

Bluefin has called upon motor insurers to proceed with care when resolving road traffic accident claims.

The new Ministry of Justice reforms come into effect today. They mean motor insurers will only have 15 days to accept or deny liability for road traffic accident claims of up to £10,000, which according to the company accounts for around 80% of all claims submitted in the UK. The broker also highlighted that failure to follow the new rules risks the claims falling out of the new process and, therefore, no longer being subject to fixed legal costs.
