Meet the techies: Richard Hartley

big-data-screen

Richard Hartley, co-founder and CEO of tech start-up Cytora, explains why brokers need to embrace data analytics.

What is your company doing in the InsurTech space?

Cytora is using artificial intelligence and external data sources to optimise risk selection and pricing, enabling insurers to understand new areas of risk and identify profitable niches where they have no claims experience.

The Cytora ‘Risk Engine’ uses machine learning algorithms to continuously extract and analyse billions of data points, enabling insurers to manage loss ratios driven by a population-scale view of commercial risk.
