In November Storm Arwen hit the UK buffeting the eastern coast of Scotland at Aberdeenshire and all the way down to the Tees Estuary in England. In Northumberland, County Durham and Tyne & Wear over 100,000 homes were left without power.
The storm caused claim volumes to spike around five times higher than is usual at this point in the year. This was a particularly challenging storm event as many properties affected were located on coastal and higher ground.
